Airbnb / STR Turnover
1. Arrival & Prep (5–10 min)
- Unlock, open blinds/curtains, turn on all lights, and air out the space
- Walk through every room once. Note condition, odors, and heavy messes
- Photograph any visible damage, stains, or broken items before touching anything
- Collect all trash from every room, bathroom, kitchen, and outdoor area. Replace liners
- Search for guest left-behind items (drawers, under beds, closets, fridge, cushions). Photograph and set aside — do not discard
- Gather supplies and equipment. Confirm you have everything needed
2. Strip Beds & Handle Linens (10–20 min)
- Strip all beds completely: sheets, pillowcases, duvet/comforter covers, decorative pillows
- Inspect mattress protector. If stained or soiled, remove and replace with a clean one
- Collect all used towels, bath mats, and kitchen linens
- Bag dirty linens. Start laundry on-site if available and time allows; otherwise stage for off-site wash
- Inspect pillows and duvet inserts for stains or odors. Do not put stained items back on the bed
- Pull fresh, clean linen sets for every bed and bathroom from the property supply or your kit
3. Bathrooms — Complete each bathroom fully (15–25 min each)
- Spray and scrub toilet bowl (under the rim), seat (both sides), lid, tank, handle, and base. Clean behind the toilet
- Wipe and disinfect the floor around the toilet base
- Spray cleaner and let dwell. Scrub walls, floor, fixtures, showerhead, and door/curtain. Remove all hair from the drain
- Wipe glass doors streak-free. Clean tracks and hinges
- Clean sink basin, faucet, and drain. Polish chrome until it shines
- Wipe vanity top, cabinet fronts, and handles. Clean inside drawers if dirty or guest items found
- Clean mirror streak-free
- Empty trash and replace liner. Wipe exterior of trash can if needed
- Wipe light switches, door handles, and exhaust fan cover
- Mop or wipe floor thoroughly, including corners and baseboards
- Hang fresh towels in the standard hotel fold/presentation for this property
- Restock: toilet paper (min. 2 full rolls + 1 spare), hand soap, shampoo, conditioner, body wash (or property-specific amenities)
- Check that the exhaust fan works and that no bulbs are burned out
4. Kitchen (25–40 min)
- Remove all guest food from refrigerator, freezer, and pantry. Wipe shelves, drawers, and door seals
- Empty dishwasher if dirty; run a cycle if needed. Unload and put away clean dishes. Confirm all dishes, glasses, and utensils are clean and in place
- Wash any remaining hand-washed dishes, dry, and put away
- Clean microwave inside (ceiling, walls, turntable) and outside. Remove any splatters
- Clean stovetop thoroughly (burners, grates, drip pans, surface). Wipe control knobs
- Wipe oven exterior and control panel. Clean interior only if visibly soiled or required by property standard
- Wipe all countertops, backsplash, and under small appliances
- Clean and shine sink, faucet, and drain. Run disposal with a drop of soap if present
- Wipe exterior of refrigerator, dishwasher, oven, and other large appliances
- Wipe small appliances (coffee maker, toaster, kettle, blender). Empty and clean coffee maker basket/carafe
- Wipe cabinet fronts, drawer fronts, and all handles
- Empty trash and recycling. Replace liners. Wipe trash can exterior if needed
- Sweep or vacuum floor, then mop (under table, around island, behind trash can)
- Restock: dish soap, sponge/scrubber, paper towels, dishwasher pods, trash bags, coffee, tea, filters (per property standard)
5. Bedrooms (15–25 min each)
- Dust and wipe all surfaces: nightstands, dressers, headboard, window sills, shelves, lamps
- Wipe light switches, door handles, and remote controls
- Check under the bed, inside drawers, and closet for leftover guest items
- Make the bed with fresh linens using tight hospital corners / hotel-style presentation. Fluff pillows and arrange neatly
- Place decorative pillows and throws according to the property's staging standard
- Clean mirrors streak-free
- Vacuum carpet or rugs thoroughly, including under the bed and in the closet. Mop hard floors if present
- Check that lamps and overhead lights work. Replace burned-out bulbs if spares are available
- Close closet doors and drawers. Leave the room staged and tidy
6. Living Areas / Common Spaces (15–25 min)
- Dust all surfaces: coffee tables, side tables, TV stand, shelves, window sills, ceiling fan blades (if reachable)
- Wipe TV screen carefully. Wipe remote controls and any electronics
- Sanitize high-touch items: light switches, door handles, thermostat, railings
- Fluff and arrange
Apartment Make-Ready
1. Arrival, Assess & Prep (10–15 min)
- Unlock unit, open blinds/curtains, turn on all lights, and air out the space
- Walk every room, closet, balcony, and storage area. Note overall condition, odors, and heavy messes
- Photograph any damage, stains, holes, broken fixtures, or missing items before touching anything
- Remove all trash, discarded items, and any remaining personal belongings. Bag and remove from the unit
- Check under sinks, inside cabinets, drawers, closets, and under appliances for leftover items or debris
- Gather supplies and equipment. Confirm you have everything needed for a full make-ready
2. Kitchen — Deep Clean (40–60 min)
- Empty and thoroughly clean refrigerator and freezer (shelves, drawers, door seals, interior walls). Wipe exterior and handles
- Clean oven interior thoroughly (racks, walls, door glass, broiler area). Wipe exterior and control panel
- Clean stovetop completely (burners, grates, drip pans, surface, control knobs)
- Clean microwave inside (ceiling, walls, turntable) and outside
- Empty and clean dishwasher interior (filter, racks, door seals) and exterior
- Wipe all countertops, backsplash, and under any remaining appliances
- Clean and shine sink, faucet, and drain. Clean under the sink cabinet completely
- Wipe all cabinet fronts, drawer fronts, and handles. Clean inside all cabinets and drawers
- Wipe small appliance areas and any remaining fixtures
- Clean range hood / exhaust fan filter and exterior if accessible
- Empty trash and recycling. Wipe trash can area. Replace liners if supplied
- Sweep or vacuum floor thoroughly, then mop (including under and behind appliances where possible)
3. Bathrooms — Complete each bathroom fully (20–35 min each)
- Scrub and disinfect toilet bowl (under the rim), seat (both sides), lid, tank, handle, and base. Clean behind and around the base
- Scrub shower/tub walls, floor, fixtures, showerhead, and door/curtain track. Remove all soap scum, hard water, and hair from the drain
- Clean glass doors or curtains thoroughly. Wipe tracks and hinges
- Clean sink basin, faucet, and drain. Polish chrome
- Wipe vanity top and clean inside vanity cabinets and drawers
- Clean mirror streak-free
- Wipe light switches, door handles, exhaust fan cover, and any shelving
- Clean and sanitize the floor thoroughly, including corners, baseboards, and behind the toilet
- Empty trash and wipe the trash area
- Check that the exhaust fan works and no bulbs are burned out. Note any issues
4. Bedrooms & Closets (15–25 min each)
- Dust and wipe all surfaces: window sills, ledges, shelves, ceiling fan blades (if reachable), light fixtures
- Wipe light switches, door handles, and outlet covers
- Clean inside all closets: shelves, rods, floors, and walls. Remove any debris or hangers left behind
- Wipe baseboards and corners
- Vacuum carpet thoroughly (including edges and corners) or mop hard floors
- Clean mirrors and any glass surfaces streak-free
- Check under any remaining furniture or in corners for debris
- Leave doors and closets open or staged per property standard
5. Living Areas, Hallways & Entry (20–30 min)
- Dust all surfaces: window sills, ledges, shelves, ceiling fans, light fixtures, and any built-ins
- Wipe light switches, door handles, thermostat, and outlet covers
- Wipe baseboards throughout
- Clean inside any hall or entry closets (shelves, floors, walls)
- Vacuum carpets thoroughly (edges, corners, under vents) or sweep and mop hard floors
- Wipe windows and glass doors (interior) as needed for fingerprints and streaks
- Clean entry door (interior) and any nearby surfaces
- Remove any remaining debris from corners, under radiators, or behind doors
6. Whole-Unit Details & Final Touches
- Clean all interior windows and accessible window tracks/sills
- Wipe all doors (both sides if accessible) and door frames
- Dust and wipe HVAC vents and return covers where reachable
- Check and wipe light fixtures and ceiling fans (remove dust and bugs)
- Clean laundry area / utility closet if present (inside cabinets, floor, appliances exterior)
- Sweep and mop or vacuum all remaining floors one final time, working toward the exit
- Check that all light bulbs work. Note any that are out
- Confirm all faucets are off, toilets are not running, and no water is pooling
- If balcony or patio exists: sweep, wipe railings, and remove debris
7. Final Inspection & Close-Out (10 min)
- Walk the entire unit from the front door as a new tenant would. Check every room, closet, and cabinet
- Confirm kitchen appliances are clean inside and out, cabinets are empty
Commercial Cleaning
1. Arrival, Safety & Prep (5–10 min)
- Check in per site protocol (sign-in sheet, badge, alarm code, or key pickup)
- Confirm the areas to be cleaned and any special instructions for the shift
- Put on required PPE (gloves, closed-toe shoes; additional as needed for the site)
- Gather and stage cleaning supplies and equipment. Confirm everything is working
- Walk the assigned areas briefly. Note high-traffic zones, spills, or obvious issues
- Photograph or report any existing damage, large spills, or safety hazards before starting
2. Trash, Recycling & High-Touch Prep
- Empty all trash cans and recycling bins in the assigned areas. Replace liners
- Wipe exterior of trash cans and recycling containers if soiled
- Remove any large debris, boxes, or discarded items from floors and common paths
- Collect and properly dispose of or stage any recyclable materials per site rules
- Wipe or sanitize high-touch surfaces early if they will be re-touched later (door handles, light switches, elevator buttons, railings)
3. Restrooms (Complete each restroom fully)
- Clean and disinfect toilets (bowl, seat both sides, lid, tank, handle, base, and behind)
- Clean and disinfect urinals if present (including screens and surrounding surfaces)
- Clean sinks, faucets, and counters. Polish chrome and remove water spots
- Clean mirrors streak-free
- Wipe and disinfect partitions, doors, handles, and light switches
- Refill soap, paper towels, toilet paper, and seat covers to site standard. Note any shortages
- Empty trash and sanitary napkin receptacles; replace liners
- Sweep or dust-mop floor, then wet-mop with appropriate disinfectant. Pay attention to corners and behind toilets
- Check that exhaust fans are working and no bulbs are out. Report issues
4. Break Rooms / Kitchens / Cafeteria Areas (if present)
- Empty trash and recycling; replace liners. Wipe exterior of bins
- Wipe and sanitize all countertops, tables, and eating surfaces
- Clean and sanitize sink, faucet, and drain area
- Wipe exterior of microwave, refrigerator, coffee makers, and other appliances. Clean microwave interior if visibly soiled
- Wipe cabinet fronts and handles. Clean inside only if specified in the scope or visibly dirty
- Restock paper towels, soap, and any provided supplies per site standard
- Sweep or vacuum floor, then mop. Clean under tables and around appliances
- Wipe chairs, stool seats, and high-touch edges as needed
5. Lobbies, Corridors, Common Areas & Conference Rooms
- Dust and wipe accessible surfaces: reception desks, side tables, ledges, window sills, and display areas
- Sanitize high-touch points: door handles, push plates, light switches, elevator buttons, handrails, and shared phones/remotes
- Wipe conference room tables, chairs (arms and backs), and AV equipment exteriors carefully
- Straighten chairs, magazines, and any staged items to a neat presentation
- Clean glass doors, entry glass, and interior windows as needed for fingerprints and streaks
- Vacuum or dust-mop hard floors and carpets in these areas. Spot-clean visible marks
- Empty any trash or recycling in these zones and replace liners
6. Offices, Cubicles & Workstations (as scoped)
- Empty desk-side trash and recycling; replace liners
- Dust and wipe accessible horizontal surfaces (desktops only if clear and permitted; never move or disturb paperwork, computers, or personal items)
- Wipe phone handsets, chair arms, and other high-touch items if included in scope
- Dust window sills, ledges, and low partitions where reachable without disturbing work areas
- Vacuum or sweep under and around desks and chairs as accessible. Do not unplug or move equipment
- Spot-clean visible marks on walls or partitions if within scope and safe to do
7. Floors (Final pass across assigned areas)
- Complete any remaining vacuuming of carpets and rugs (edges, corners, under furniture where accessible)
- Dust-mop or sweep all hard floors to remove grit and debris
- Wet-mop hard floors with the appropriate cleaner/disinfectant for the surface type. Change solution when dirty
- Address entry mats: vacuum or shake, and clean underneath if possible
- Spot-treat visible stains or spills on carpet if within scope and product is available
- Ensure floors are left as dry as practical and no slip hazards remain
8. Final Walkthrough & Close-Out
- Walk all assigned areas one final time. Check that trash is empty, restrooms are stocked, and floors look finished
- Confirm no cleaning equipment, supplies, or personal items are left behind in the space
- Turn off lights in areas you are responsible for
